Frequently Asked Coffee Questions (FACQ)

Your questions answered.

Can you grind my coffee the way I want it?

Yep, and you can choose how you want your coffee grounds on each coffee's product page. We offer coarse, standard, or fine ground. Or you can order your coffee whole bean if you have your own coffee grinder.

How much coffee should I use?

Most coffee companies will recommend 1-2 tablespoons of coffee per cup (6oz of water), but if you're making Gamer Grind Co coffee we recommend starting with about 1-1.5 tablespoons per cup and adjust to taste if necessary.

Our coffee is very fresh (from the same week you order - possibly the freshest coffee you've ever had!) and offers bold flavor so you probably don't need 2 tablespoons for 6oz of water like you would with older coffee since coffee loses flavor as it ages. Grocery store bought coffee is often 3-8 weeks old before you get it so you'd need a little more coffee per cup.

The coffee I want is sold out, is it coming back?

Most likely! We try to keep our coffee as fresh as possible so don't stock enormous quantities, therefore we can sell out quickly.

What do I need to make a cup of coffee with these beans?

If you're new to the world of brewing ground coffee beans then a good place to start is with a simple Cafetière/French Press.

Is the coffee Fairtrade or Organic?

Each coffee is different, though they do all say if they are organic or fairtrade in their product description pages.

This coffee is amazing! What coffee roaster do you use?

We use a specially designed roaster, and no other roaster roasts the same way. It's part of the great taste - it's not just the beans that make us so good.

Do you offer flavored coffee blends?

From time to time we may add special flavored sweet coffee blends to our offerings if it's in season, but these will sell out fast.

How can I make my coffee stay fresh for longer? Does it expire?

Ideally all coffee should be stored long term between 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit at about 30-50% humidity. Roasted coffee beans should be kept in an air tight container, as well as ground coffee. You can store roasted coffees without much flavor loss for about a year unopened, or 2 years in the freezer. Coffee is still good past these dates if kept properly, but flavor fades away over time. Once you open roasted beans or ground coffee you should plan to use it up within a week for the absolute best flavor.

Do you have K-cups?

No, though our coffee works great with one of those refillable k-cups you can pick up from places like Walmart or Amazon.

Do you do instant coffee?

Not at the moment, though it's something we're considering for the future. Get in touch if this is something you're after and we'll let you know if & when it's available.
